Ashanti Shequoiya, also known by the name Ashanti was born on 13 October 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti is a teen singer-songwriter and actress in the US, has been signed to Murder Inc. Records to record in 2002. The same year, she was featured in Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always On Time track. Both of them were huge hits. First ever female to reach the top two positions within the United States, with Foolish at number one, and What's Luv?
